![]() Like many young people, I was enthused to join the Labour Party when I first heard Jeremy Corbyn speak when he stood as Leader of the Labour Party. His condemnation of austerity & his vision for the future resonated with me and gave me hope. Immediately I became involved with the local Party and have been Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary at different times since then. I stood for Cornwall and Town Councils in 2017 and then was heavily involved in the 2017 General Election canvassing both in St Austell & in Newquay. I was priviledged to be the Youth Delegate at two Labour Conferences representing St Austell & Newquay members. I was born in St Austell where my family still live, I work in care and I have a 8 month old son.
I am standing for Labour in Newquay Porth & Tretherras as the pandemic has highlighted the inequalities across our area and I want to work with the residents to improve opportunities for the many, not the few. Joey Bishop Labour Candidate |
Residents' SurveyI would really like to meet you all & hear your views & concerns but that has been difficult during a pandemic. So I have created an online residents’ survey which I’d be really grateful if you could complete & also share with others in the area.
