Petition against the closure of Cornwall’s Minor Injury Units (MIUs)
There are 13 Minor Injury Units (MIUs) in Cornwall, They are in Bodmin, Camborne, Falmouth, Helston, Launceston, Liskeard, Newquay, St Austell and Stratton (Fowey and Saltash are currently closed) as well as one each at West Cornwall Hospital and Treliske. Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group, who commission services for the people of Cornwall, propose reducing this number from thirteen to four. These four MIUs will be renamed Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs). The only MIUs likely to become UTCs are in Penzance, Camborne, Truro and Liskeard.
