Newquay Trenance

About Me

Picture
I am the Newquay Town Councillor for the newly created Newquay Trenance ward. The area (shown on the map) covers a really diverse area of Newquay representing some of the most and least deprived areas of Newquay, it really deserves someone with a proven ability to seek out issues and get them resolved.

I have served on Newquay Town Council since 2017 representing the Treloggan Ward (which covers a similar area to the new Trenance division) and I’m currently the Chair of the Planning and Licensing committee where I have effectively represented the views of Newquay people to Cornwall Council on various issues affected by planning – alongside many other issues.

I’ve a proven desire and ability to work with other people for the benefit of Newquay.  As a Labour Newquay voice on the Town Council I would work tirelessly for Newquay, key priorities for Newquay are recovery from the pandemic and decent jobs, decent truly affordable housing including social housing for local people, tough action on antisocial behaviour as well as addressing issues that cause antisocial behaviour, tackling homelessness and rough sleeping, ensuring Newquay works for residents not just visitors and ensuring Newquay is a place people can and want to live and in all year round and are able to raise their families here.  Too many local people are excluded from the economic and social activity of Newquay and that must stop, decent jobs, decent housing, decent health, and a decent standard of living are something we all have a right to.
